GCAL to Sponsor WDC Annual Meeting in Jerusalem
GCAL has announced its sponsorship of the WDC’s Fifth Annual Meeting,
to be held May 9-10, at the David Citadel Hotel in Jerusalem, Israel.
NEW YORK, NY ― May 2, 2007 ― Reconfirming its commitment to promoting social and ethical responsibility in
the diamond industry, Gem Certification & Assurance Lab (GCAL) has announced its sponsorship of the World
Diamond Council’s Fifth Annual Meeting, to be held May 9-10, at the David Citadel Hotel in Jerusalem, Israel.
GCAL is sponsoring the event’s Welcome Cocktail Reception on May 9.
World Diamond Council (WDC) was formed in 2000 to stop the flow of conflict diamonds through the implementation
of the Kimberley Process and System of Warranties. WDC’s Annual Meeting brings together government, nongovernment
and industry leaders in an open forum to discuss the issues at hand surrounding the eradication of the flow
of conflict diamonds. WGC represents more than 50 organizations worldwide – from mining companies and trade
associations to manufacturers and retailers. This year’s Annual Meeting is being hosted by the Israeli Diamond
Industry.
